Ingredients

For the Mocktail
  • 4-5 Fresh Strawberries Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup Fresh Orange Juice Freshly squeezed is recommended.
  • 1 cup Sparkling Water or Lemon-Lime Soda You can substitute with flavored sparkling water.
  • 1/2 cup Optional Sprite Omit for a less sweet drink.

Equipment

  • highball glass
  • muddler

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by preparing your glass. Using a muddler, gently crush about four to five fresh ripe strawberries at the bottom of a highball or Collins glass for about 30 seconds until the juices are released.
  2. Next, pour freshly squeezed orange juice over the muddled strawberries until the glass is about halfway full. This should take roughly 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Fill the glass with ice cubes to keep your drink refreshingly cool, using large cubes to minimize dilution.
  4. Gently pour sparkling water or lemon-lime soda over the ice and juice mix carefully to maintain the layers; this should take about 1 minute.
  5. Finally, garnish your drink by placing a fresh strawberry or a slice of orange on the rim of the glass. This should take about 30 seconds.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days, adding ice and soda just before serving.
