Start by trimming any excess fat from the brisket. Pat the meat dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and chili powder. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side. This step adds flavor but can be skipped if you're short on time.
Place the seared brisket in the slow cooker. Pour the beef broth, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar over the meat.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the brisket is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
