Cooking Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat, add ground meat, onion, garlic, and salt. Cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine drained spaghetti squash, the meat mixture, tomato sauce, 1½ cups mozzarella, and Italian seasoning.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes until heated through.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top, add pepperonis, and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes, then garnish with fresh basil before serving.
