Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat, add ground meat, onion, garlic, and salt. Cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine drained spaghetti squash, the meat mixture, tomato sauce, 1½ cups mozzarella, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes until heated through.
  5. Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top, add pepperonis, and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted.
  6. Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes, then garnish with fresh basil before serving.
