  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce Can substitute with soy sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced; can substitute with garlic powder
  • 2 leaves Bay Leaves Optional, but recommended for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar Honey or maple syrup can work as alternatives
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Smoked paprika for a unique twist
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust based on heat preference
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme Fresh thyme enhances flavor
  • 2 cups Carrots Chopped
  • 2 cups Potatoes Diced
  • 1 cup Onion Sliced
  • 1 cup Celery Diced

Method
 

Directions
  1. Season the lean stewing beef with salt and pepper. Toss in flour until evenly coated and set aside.
  2. Turn Instant Pot to 'Sauté' mode, add vegetable oil, and allow it to heat. Brown beef in batches for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Deglaze the pot with beef broth, scraping up browned bits from the bottom.
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, bay leaves, paprika, thyme, and sugar, mixing well.
  5. Mix in carrots, potatoes, onion, and celery, folding gently into the beef mixture.
  6. Seal the Instant Pot lid and set to 'Meat/Stew' mode for 35 minutes, with the valve set to 'Sealing'.
  7. Allow natural pressure release for 10-15 minutes, then switch to 'Venting'.
  8. Taste for seasoning and adjust salt and pepper. Blend some cooked vegetables for desired thickness if needed.
