- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3–4 minutes until translucent and softened.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart and cook for around 5–7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the minced garlic and let it cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring continuously.
- Add the uncooked rice, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover for about 18–20 minutes.
- While the rice cooks, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Gradually stir in the Parmesan and cheddar cheese along with the milk until smooth.
- After the rice is cooked, pour the creamy cheese sauce into the skillet and stir to combine. Cook uncovered for an additional 2–3 minutes until heated through.
- Optionally, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top before serving.
