  • 2 cups cooked ham Diced turkey or cooked sausage can be used
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with Monterey Jack or Gruyere
  • 6 large eggs Use fresh eggs for best results
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey Maple syrup can be used as a substitute
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard Optional based on preference
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg Optional

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Prepare the baking dish by generously spraying it with cooking spray.
  3. Layer half of the croissant pieces in the bottom of the dish, followed by half of the diced ham and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Repeat the layering with the remaining croissant pieces, ham, and cheese.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, honey, ground mustard, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until frothy.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the layers in the baking dish, pressing down gently on the croissants.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  8. Bake covered with foil for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
