Ingredients

For the Sorbet Base
  • 2 cups frozen peach slices or fresh sliced peaches Use ripe, sweet peaches for the best flavor; fresh peaches should be peeled beforehand.
  • 3/4 cup granulated white cane sugar Feel free to substitute with maple syrup or agave nectar for a different flavor profile.
  • 1/2 cup cold water Aids in sugar dissolution and contributes to a smooth texture.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Adds a tangy zest and helps prevent browning; fresh or bottled lemon juice works perfectly.

Equipment

  • high-speed blender or food processor
  • metal loaf pan or freezer-safe container

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Perfect Peach Sorbet
  1. If using fresh peaches, start by washing and peeling them. Slice into smaller pieces to ensure they blend smoothly. If using frozen peaches, skip this step.
  2. In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine the prepared peaches, granulated sugar, cold water, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Pour the mixture into a metal loaf pan or another freezer-safe container. Smooth the top with a spatula and cover tightly with parchment paper or aluminum foil if needed.
  4. Freeze for a minimum of 4 hours, or until firm to the touch yet easy to scoop.
  5. Let the sorbet sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before serving to soften for easier scooping.
  6. Scoop into bowls or dessert cups, garnishing with fresh peach slices or mint leaves as desired.

Notes

Store any leftover sorbet in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For long-term storage, keep in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months to prevent freezer burn.
