  • 2 lbs New York Strip Steaks Ribeye or Top Sirloin are great substitutes.
For Cooking and Seasoning
  • 0.5 Tbsp Vegetable Oil Can also use Canola or extra light olive oil.
  • 1.5 tsp Sea Salt Enhances the steak's natural flavors.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Freshly ground adds aromatic spice.
For the Flavor Infusion
  • 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter Provides richness and flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Peeled and quartered.
  • 1 sprig Fresh Rosemary Can be swapped for fresh thyme if preferred.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Pat and season the steak by drying with paper towels and seasoning with sea salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat a cast-iron pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, then add vegetable oil.
  3. Sear the seasoned steaks in the hot pan for about 4 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Sear the edges of the steaks for about 1 minute each.
  5. Add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan, then spoon the melted butter over the steaks for about 1 minute.
  6. Remove steaks when they are 5-10 degrees below desired doneness.
  7. Rest the steaks covered loosely with aluminum foil for 10 minutes.
  8. Slice the steak against the grain and serve.
