Baking Instructions

  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients with the buttermilk until everything is combined; then add boiling water.
  6. Divide the batter between the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Beat together the marshmallow fluff and any additional ingredients until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes.
  9. Mix butter with powdered sugar until smooth, then gradually stir in melted dark chocolate.
  10. Assemble the cake by layering the cooled cake with frosting and topping it with chocolate shavings.
