  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Thickening agent.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Chipotle Chili Pepper Powder Substitute with regular chili powder if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon Light Brown Sugar May substitute with white sugar.
  • 3 medium Fresh Peaches Peeled and diced; or use canned peaches.
  • 0.5 cup Pecans Chopped; walnuts or almonds can be used.
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Ensure it's softened.
For Garnish
  • 4 slices Reserved Bacon For topping.
  • 0.5 cup Reserved Pecans For topping.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Bourbon Peach Pecan Dip
  1. In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add ½ cup of chopped onion and sauté for about 8 minutes until softened.
  2. Remove skillet from heat and stir in ¼ cup of bourbon, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ cup of cola, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, ½ teaspoon of chipotle chili powder, and 2 tablespoons of light brown sugar. Mix well.
  3. Return skillet to medium heat and bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in 3 peeled and diced peaches, 4 slices of crumbled cooked bacon, and ½ cup of chopped pecans. Simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  5. Spread 8 ounces of softened cream cheese in an 8-inch pie plate. Spoon the warm peach mixture over the cream cheese.
  6. Garnish with reserved crumbled bacon and chopped pecans. Serve warm with crackers or French bread.
