- In a small saucepan, combine ½ cup honey, 2 tablespoons hot sauce, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Heat over medium-low for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Rinse 1 pound of large shrimp and pat them dry thoroughly.
- In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat 2 eggs with ¼ cup milk until smooth.
- Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge the shrimp in the flour mixture, dip in the egg wash, and dredge again in flour.
- Carefully fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove and drain on paper towels.
- Toss the fried shrimp in the hot honey sauce until thoroughly coated. Serve hot!
