Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 green onions sliced (for garnish)

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine gochujang, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  4. Remove the wings from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Cook the wings in the air fryer for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are crispy and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, remove the wings from the air fryer and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, you can toss the wings in a little cornstarch before marinating.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of gochujang or mix in some ketchup to balance the heat.
