  • 2 medium Jalapeños Adjust for heat
For the Zing
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice Freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro Optional
For Heat Control
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional, adjust to taste

Equipment

  • Blender
  • mason jar
  • Colander
  • Cutting Board
  • knife

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by finely chopping the onion, then rinse it under cold water for about 2-3 minutes. This soaking reduces the sharpness of the onion and enhances its sweetness.
  2. In a blender, combine the drained onion, chopped jalapeños, and a couple of cloves of minced garlic. Add a pinch of salt and lime juice for brightening flavors. Blend for about 10-15 seconds until everything is finely chopped but not pureed.
  3. Next, add your tomatoes into the blender along with a handful of cilantro, if desired. Pulse blend for another 10-15 seconds until you achieve a slightly chunky texture.
  4. Once blended, taste your salsa and adjust with more lime juice if needed or cayenne pepper for heat.
  5. Transfer your salsa into a mason jar and let it sit for about 30 minutes at room temperature to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

This salsa is perfect for taco nights and pairs well with a variety of snacks. Customize the ingredients to your liking for a unique flavor each time you make it.
