Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl and mix gently.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture into the baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes until browned and reaches 160°F (70°C).
  4. Prepare the mashed potatoes by warming them and mixing with sour cream and butter until creamy. Season as desired.
  5. Spread the prepared mashed potatoes evenly over the baked meatloaf.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  7. Let the dish cool for 5-10 minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, slice, and serve.
