Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to beat together 1 cup of unsalted butter with ½ cup each of granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 1 large egg to the mixture and mix until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, ⅓ cup of black cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, ½ teaspoon of fine sea salt, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, and ¼ teaspoon of baking powder.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until a sticky dough forms.
- Gently fold in 1 cup of white chocolate chips and 1 cup of Halloween M&Ms.
- Using a large cookie scoop, drop balls of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Press a few extra Halloween M&Ms and edible candy eyeballs on top of each dough ball.
- Bake your cookies for about 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Let the cookies cool on the sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
