Method

Steps to Prepare Fresh Basil Mousse
  1. In a blender, combine 1 cup of heavy cream, 1/2 cup of sugar, and a generous handful of fresh basil leaves. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of gelatin over 2 tablespoons of cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes. Heat gently in the microwave and stir it into the basil mixture.
  3. Pour remaining 1 cup of heavy cream into a mixing bowl and whip on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until soft peaks form. Fold into the basil mixture gently.
  4. Pour mousse into serving glasses and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until set.
  5. Garnish with fresh berries or drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving.

Notes

Ensure heavy cream is cold before whipping to achieve soft peaks. Use only fresh basil for the best flavor. Store in airtight containers for up to 3 days or freeze for 1 month.
