  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste or sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil optional
  • 1 dash fish sauce optional, or mushroom powder for vegetarian
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds toasted preferred
  • 1/4 cup peanuts crushed
  • 2 stalks green onions finely chopped
  • 1 few chili peppers sliced

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Rinse 1 cup of uncooked rice under cold water to remove excess starch. Combine with 1.5 cups of water and a pinch of salt in a medium pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground turkey, breaking it up. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon of ginger paste, and 2 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce to the skillet. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chili paste and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In bowls, spoon cooked rice as the base. Top with turkey mixture. Add garnishes like green onions, sesame seeds, and crushed peanuts.
  5. Serve hot, drizzled with chili oil if desired, and encourage customization with extra toppings.
