A simple and delicious Dump and Bake Chicken Parmesan recipe that combines chicken, pasta, and cheese in a single dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup uncooked penne pasta
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the marinara sauce evenly across the bottom.
  3. Place the chicken breasts on top of the marinara sauce.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper over the chicken.
  5. Add the uncooked penne pasta evenly around the chicken in the baking dish.
  6. Pour 2 cups of water over the pasta and chicken. Do not stir.
  7. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and carefully stir the pasta.
  9. Top the chicken with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
