Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 baking dish.
  2. In a small skillet, toast the pecan pieces over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  3. Peel and core apples, cutting them into 1/2-inch chunks.
  4. Cream together butter and sugar in a mixing bowl using a hand mixer until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.
  6. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in the batter and stir until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped apples and toasted pecans carefully.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 30-40 minutes until edges are golden brown and center is set.
  10. Cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
