Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Marinate flank or skirt steak in lime juice, garlic, and spices for at least 30 minutes. Preheat grill to medium-high (450°F). Grill steak for 6-8 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 135°F.
  2. Remove steak from grill and let rest for 5-10 minutes covered with aluminum foil.
  3. While resting, cut avocados in half and mash in a bowl with lime juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. Warm tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds per side or in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Assemble tacos by spreading mashed avocado on a tortilla, topping with chopped carne asada, cotija cheese, onion, and cilantro.
  6. Finish by squeezing fresh lime juice over tacos and serve with extra lime wedges and salsa.
