Method
 

  1. Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the thawed hashbrowns, egg, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Scoop about 1/2 cup of the mixture into the preheated waffle maker, spreading it evenly.
  4. Close the waffle maker and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chaffle is golden brown and crispy. Carefully remove it and repeat with the remaining mixture.
