For the Batter
  • 0.5 cups All-Purpose Flour Substitute with gluten-free flour if needed.
  • 0.25 cups Cornstarch Key for extra crispy batter.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika Powder Optional for extra depth.

For the Coating
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs Ensure they are gluten-free if necessary.

For the Sauce

Cooking Instructions
  1. Prepare the 'Honey' Mustard Sauce by whisking together neutral oil, agave or maple syrup, and mustard. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
  2. Drain and press the extra firm tofu for about 10 minutes, then slice into 1-inch strips.
  3. Make the batter by combining flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and paprika in a bowl, then gradually add water until achieving a smooth consistency.
  4. Coat each tofu strip in batter, letting excess drip off, then roll in panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the coated tofu tenders for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Brush or spoon the 'honey' mustard sauce over tenders and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes.
