Step-by-Step Instructions for Philly Cheese Steak Soup Recipe
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add 1 pound of sliced beef sirloin and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  2. In the same pot, add another tablespoon of olive oil if necessary. Add 1 chopped onion and 1 diced green bell pepper, sauté for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
  4. Return the browned beef to the pot, pour in 4 cups of beef broth, and bring to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, stir in 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 ½ cups of shredded provolone cheese until melted.
