- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes).
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning and 3 minced garlic cloves, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not burnt.
- Pour in 3 cups of low-sodium chicken broth and 1 cup of water, bring to a rolling boil, then add 12 ounces of uncooked penne pasta. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
