Step-by-Step Instructions
- Boil the pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve a cup of pasta water, drain, and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving fat in the skillet.
- Sauté mushrooms in the skillet with bacon fat for 5-6 minutes until browned and moisture evaporates.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Combine mushrooms and garlic with bacon on a plate. Pour chicken broth or wine into the skillet and add Italian seasoning, lemon juice, and flour. Stir for 1 minute to combine and thicken slightly.
- Slowly stir in heavy cream and simmer gently for about 2 minutes, thickening the sauce.
- Add bacon and mushrooms back into the sauce, heating through for 1-2 minutes.
- Toss drained pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if necessary to achieve desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve garnished with parmesan cheese and parsley.

Notes
For best results, use high-quality bacon and always wait until all ingredients are combined before seasoning.
