Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the room-temperature butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and blend until thoroughly combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, ground cloves, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples that have been tossed in lemon juice.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  7. Bake for about 12-14 minutes or until the cookies are set and lightly golden around the edges.
  8. Remove from the oven and cool on the sheets for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
