- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash 3 to 4 very ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth with a few lumps.
- Combine mashed bananas with 2 eggs, 1/3 cup melted butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla; mix well.
- Gently stir in 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
- Fold in 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
