Description

A flavorful Vietnamese Baked Chicken recipe featuring marinated chicken thighs baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine fish sauce, soy sauce, honey, vegetable oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, five-spice powder, and lime juice. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  4. Place the marinated chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, skin side up.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the skin is crispy.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Serve with steamed jasmine rice and a side of pickled vegetables for a complete meal.
