- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup French bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, bread crumbs, cream cheese, mayonnaise, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the soft bread from the center to create a hollow space for the filling.
- Spoon the shrimp mixture evenly onto each half of the bread. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the shrimp are cooked through and the bread is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the shrimp mixture.
- Substitute crab meat or lobster for the shrimp for a luxurious twist on this stuffed bread.
