Description
Steak and Cheese Dirty Fry Burritos are a delicious twist on traditional burritos, filled with savory flank steak, crispy French fries, and melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups frozen French fries
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 cup diced onions
- Sour cream and salsa for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Spread the frozen French fries on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions until crispy, about 20-25 minutes.
- While the fries are baking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through.
- In the same skillet, add the diced bell peppers and onions. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and add them to the skillet with the steak and vegetables. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
- Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon a generous amount of the steak and fry mixture onto the center of the tortilla, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly from the bottom to the top. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Place the burritos seam-side down on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden and crispy.
- Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the steak mixture.
- Substitute the flank steak with grilled chicken or ground beef for a different flavor profile.
