Description

Steak and Cheese Dirty Fry Burritos are a delicious twist on traditional burritos, filled with savory flank steak, crispy French fries, and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups frozen French fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • Sour cream and salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Spread the frozen French fries on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions until crispy, about 20-25 minutes.
  2. While the fries are baking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through.
  3. In the same skillet, add the diced bell peppers and onions. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and add them to the skillet with the steak and vegetables. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon a generous amount of the steak and fry mixture onto the center of the tortilla, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly from the bottom to the top. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  7. Place the burritos seam-side down on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the steak mixture.
  • Substitute the flank steak with grilled chicken or ground beef for a different flavor profile.
