Description

Shrimp Boil Delight is a flavorful and easy-to-make seafood dish that combines shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage, seasoned with Old Bay for a delicious experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, deveined and shells removed
  • 1 pound baby potatoes, halved
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 8 cups water
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil over high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning and salt to taste.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the baby potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes or until they are fork-tender.
  3. Add the smoked sausage to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the corn and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Finally, add the shrimp and minced garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  6. Squeeze the juice of the lemon halves into the pot, then toss in the lemon halves for extra flavor.
  7. Remove the pot from heat and drain the contents into a colander.
  8. Transfer the shrimp boil to a large serving platter or spread it out on a newspaper-covered table for a fun presentation.
  9. Sprinkle with the remaining Old Bay seasoning and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce or some sliced jalapeños to the pot.
  • Substitute the smoked sausage with andouille sausage for a more robust flavor or use chicken sausage for a lighter option.
