Description

Savory Turkey Meatballs with Marinara Sauce are a delicious and healthy option for any meal, packed with flavor and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the meatballs. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce and simmer for an additional 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  7. Serve the meatballs with pasta, on a sub roll, or over rice, and garnish with extra parsley and Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers.
  • Add finely chopped vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini to the meatball mixture for extra nutrition and flavor.
