Description
Pork Soup Dumplings are a delicious and savory treat filled with ground pork and flavorful broth, wrapped in a delicate dough.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the water, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine the ground pork, chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, green onions, sugar, black pepper, and white pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- After the dough has rested, divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle, about 3 inches in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of each circle.
- Carefully fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal tightly and create pleats. Ensure there are no gaps for the soup to escape.
- Place the dumplings in a steamer lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for 15-20 minutes until the dough is cooked through and the filling is hot.
- Serve immediately with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of chili oil to the filling mixture.
- You can also substitute ground chicken or turkey for the pork for a lighter option.
