Description

Pork Soup Dumplings are a delicious and savory treat filled with ground pork and flavorful broth, wrapped in a delicate dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the water, stirring until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine the ground pork, chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, green onions, sugar, black pepper, and white pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  4. After the dough has rested, divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle, about 3 inches in diameter.
  5. Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of each circle.
  6. Carefully fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal tightly and create pleats. Ensure there are no gaps for the soup to escape.
  7. Place the dumplings in a steamer lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for 15-20 minutes until the dough is cooked through and the filling is hot.
  8. Serve immediately with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of chili oil to the filling mixture.
  • You can also substitute ground chicken or turkey for the pork for a lighter option.
