Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, and mayonnaise. Mix until well combined and creamy.
  2. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or jalapeños for extra heat.
  4. If time allows, cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve the chicken salad on a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, or with crackers. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.

  • For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for half of the mayonnaise.
