Description

Greek Chicken Meatballs with Tzatziki Sauce are irresistible!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (for Tzatziki Sauce)
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out (for Tzatziki Sauce)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (for Tzatziki Sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (for Tzatziki Sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (for Tzatziki Sauce)
  • Salt and pepper to taste (for Tzatziki Sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, red onion, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the meatballs. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a medium bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with the tzatziki sauce.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some feta cheese into the meatball mixture.
  • You can also serve the meatballs in pita bread with fresh vegetables for a delicious wrap.
