Description

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of fresh strawberries and creamy cheesecake, all encased in a crispy, golden-brown coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to macerate.
  2. In another bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on two slices of bread. Top with the macerated strawberries, then place the remaining slices of bread on top to create sandwiches.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
  5. Dip each sandwich first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with crushed graham crackers.
  6. In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the sandwiches, frying until golden brown on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  7. Remove the sandwiches and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, add a layer of chocolate spread along with the cream cheese.
  • Substitute the strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or bananas for a different flavor.
