Description

A creamy and rich hot chocolate made in a crockpot, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Whipped cream (for serving)
  • Chocolate shavings or marshmallows (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a 6-quart crockpot, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Stir the mixture well to combine all the ingredients.
  3. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is hot.
  4. Once melted and heated, stir again to ensure everything is well combined.
  5. Serve hot in mugs, topped with whipped cream and garnished with chocolate shavings or marshmallows if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or peppermint extract for a festive twist.
  • If you prefer a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with additional milk.
