Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Whipped cream (for serving)
- Chocolate shavings or marshmallows (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a 6-quart crockpot, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Stir the mixture well to combine all the ingredients.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is hot.
- Once melted and heated, stir again to ensure everything is well combined.
- Serve hot in mugs, topped with whipped cream and garnished with chocolate shavings or marshmallows if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
- You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or peppermint extract for a festive twist.
- If you prefer a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with additional milk.
