Description

A quick and easy recipe for a delicious Chinese Chicken and Cabbage Stir-Fry, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Toss in the shredded cabbage, julienned carrots, and sliced bell pepper. Stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha sauce.
  • You can substitute the chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different protein option.
  • For a heartier meal, serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles.
