Description

A delicious Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak that combines tender chicken, spicy buffalo sauce, and melted provolone cheese in a hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup buffalo sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  2. Stir in the buffalo sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Return the buffalo chicken to the skillet with the vegetables and mix well to combine.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Divide the buffalo chicken mixture evenly among the hoagie rolls. Top each with provolone cheese slices.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or extra buffalo sauce to the chicken mixture.
  • Substitute the provolone cheese with cheddar or blue cheese for a different flavor profile.
