Description

Alice Springs Chicken is a delicious and hearty dish featuring chicken breasts topped with honey mustard dressing, crumbled bacon, and melted Monterey Jack cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound total)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup honey mustard dressing
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  4. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat. Drizzle the honey mustard dressing over the chicken, then sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top.
  6. Top each chicken breast with shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the spice mix.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
